Day 2
Exploration of Yerevan involves a tour of the city’s central areas, such as the City Center and Republic Square, as well as notable landmarks like the State University, City Panorama, Cascade, Parliament, President’s Palace, Opera, and Matenadaran (housing ancient manuscripts). The itinerary also encompasses the Sports & Concert Complex, a visit to the Genocide Memorial honoring the victims of 1915, and exploration of the Genocide Museum.

DAY 3

Commence the day with breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Etchmiadzin, the ancient capital of Armenia and, since the 4th century, the largest religious center serving as the residence of the Catholicos of All Armenians.

Explore Zvartnots, a temple of Vigil Forces constructed between 641-661 A.D., acknowledged as an architectural marvel and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000.

Continue the journey to Garni, the sole surviving pagan temple in Armenia, established in 77 AD by King Trdat of the Arshakid Dynasty. This Greco-Roman-style temple boasts distinctive pillars and stands proudly on a rocky ridge with a captivating view of a deep canyon. It served as a summer residence for the Arshakid dynasty. Explore the ruins of the nearby Royal Palace and Royal Bath-house.

Next, head to the unique caved temple of St. Geghard (12th-13th cc.), another UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000. Conclude the day by driving back to Yerevan.

DAY 4
Ararat valley – Noravank – Selim pass – Lake Sevan – Yerevan

Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel and embark on a drive to the expansive Ararat valley, a vast region situated west of the Sevan basin on the Armenian Plateau, nestled at the foothills of the Geghama mountains. To the north, the plain is bordered by Mount Aragats, and to the south, by Mount Ararat. Pause near the Khor-Virap Monastery, uniquely positioned in a dungeon that sets it apart from other spiritual monuments in Armenia. You’ll have the opportunity to descend into the dark pit yourself, offering a remarkable view of the biblical mountain with its two distinctive white peaks.

Continue the journey with a visit to Noravank, an impressive monastery complex dating back to the 13th-14th centuries. The road to Noravank treats you to breathtaking scenery and stunning red cliffs that add to the charm of the surroundings.

Proceed to Sevan, one of the largest high-mountain freshwater lakes in Eurasia. Conclude the day by returning to Yerevan, where the program includes a farewell dinner to mark the end of your explorations.
